Mechanism of Educational Quality Assurance for Pilot Schools within Chiang Mai Education Sandbox

Abstract

       The research purposes were 1) to study the current situation, needs including guidelines for driving educational quality assurance for pilot schools within Chiang Mai education sandbox, 2) to develop mechanism to education quality assurance, and 3) to evaluate mechanism for educational quality assurance. The research process consisted of 3 steps; the 1st ) the study of the current condition, needs, and guidelines for driving educational quality assurance conducted by using a questionnaire from a sample group of 317 people involved and studying the guidelines of driving educational quality assurance with interviews from 9 experts, 2nd ) development of mechanisms to drive educational quality assurance was a draft mechanism that drives the educational quality assurance by using workshops from 9 scholars and related persons and examining the mechanisms driving the educational quality assurance for the aspect of accuracy and suitability by 9 experts, and 3rd ) evaluation of mechanisms for driving educational quality assurance as to the aspects of possibility and usefulness by using a questionnaire from a sample group of 317 people involved, and the data were analyzed Mean, Standard Deviation, and Content Analysis. 
       The research findings were as follows: The overall current condition, needs, and guidelines for driving educational quality assurance were at a low level, the overall educational quality assurance operational needs were at a high level, and guidelines for driving educational quality assurance included the development of educational quality, educational quality audits, and educational quality assessment. Each guideline had subtopics such as input, process, and output which were relevant to driving educational quality assurance. The findings of the development of mechanisms for driving educational quality assurance within pilot schools: it consisted of 4 compositions: 1) the committee for driving educational quality assurance, 2) the roles and duties, 3) the process of operation driving, and 4) the reporting of performance. The results of the mechanisms audit driving the educational quality assurance for all aspects of accuracy and suitability showed at a high level. The evaluation of the driving mechanism for educational quality assurance for the aspects of possibility was at a high level and the usefulness was at the highest level.
