วัสดุและประสบการณ์เชิงพื้นที่ในสถาปัตยกรรม เรือนพื้นถิ่นญี่ปุ่นยุคเอโดะ

บทคัดย่อ
บทความนี้ศึกษาบทบาทและสุนทรียภาพของวัสดุในสถาปัตยกรรมเรือนพื้นถิ่นญี่ปุ่นยุคเอโดะ (ค.ศ. 1603–1868) ผ่านความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์ พื้นที่ และวัสดุ ภายใต้บริบทสังคมที่มีการแบ่งชนชั้นอย่างชัดเจน โดยใช้แนวคิดปรากฏการณ์วิทยาเป็นกรอบในการอธิบายการรับรู้และประสบการณ์เชิงพื้นที่ที่เกิดจากคุณสมบัติของวัสดุและบรรยากาศทางสถาปัตยกรรม การวิจัยเป็นการศึกษาเชิงคุณภาพ โดยคัดเลือกกรณีศึกษาแบบเจาะจงจำนวน 3 ประเภท ได้แก่ เรือนชาวบ้าน เรือนพ่อค้า และเรือนซามูไร ซึ่งเป็นตัวแทนของกลุ่มชนชั้นสำคัญในสังคมยุคเอโดะ ผ่านการวิเคราะห์ลักษณะการใช้วัสดุ การจัดลำดับพื้นที่ และประสบการณ์เชิงพื้นที่ที่เกิดขึ้นภายในเรือน ผลการศึกษาพบว่า วัสดุมีบทบาทในการถ่ายทอดวิถีชีวิต ค่านิยม และสถานะทางสังคมของผู้อยู่อาศัย โดยสามารถจำแนกสุนทรียภาพของวัสดุออกเป็น 2 ลักษณะ ได้แก่ สุนทรียภาพเชิงปฏิบัติ ซึ่งเน้นความเรียบง่าย ความเหมาะสมต่อการใช้งาน และความคงทนของวัสดุ และสุนทรียภาพเชิงสัญลักษณ์ ซึ่งเกิดจากการใช้วัสดุเพื่อแสดงถึงสถานะและความเป็นทางการ นอกจากนี้ ความแตกต่างทางชนชั้นยังส่งผลต่อรูปแบบการใช้วัสดุ การจัดลำดับพื้นที่ และการสร้างบรรยากาศภายในเรือนอย่างชัดเจน โดยเรือนชาวบ้านสะท้อนความเรียบง่ายและการใช้งานเป็นหลักเรือนพ่อค้าแสดงฐานะทางเศรษฐกิจผ่านความประณีตของวัสดุ ขณะที่เรือนซามูไรใช้วัสดุแลtองค์ประกอบทางสถาปัตยกรรมในการกำหนดระเบียบ ลำดับชั้น และการควบคุมพื้นที่ ผลการศึกษาชี้ให้เห็นว่า วัสดุในเรือนพื้นถิ่นยุคเอโดะมิได้มีบทบาทเพียงด้านการก่อสร้าง แต่ยังมีส่วนสำคัญในการสร้างประสบการณ์เชิงพื้นที่และสะท้อนความหมายทางสังคมของสถาปัตยกรรม
