The objectives of this study were to analyze natural site resistance for recreational use, to assess recreation resource potential, to management zoning and compare the current recreational use with assigned management zones of Huai Nam Dang National Park. This study found that 49.01 percent of the park area had low to very low resistance. About 39.96 percent had moderate resistance while 11.03 percent had high to very high resistance. Recreation resource potential assessment was performed in 11 recreational sites. Nine sites with high resource potential score were Doi Kiw Lom Viewpoint, Song Ta Wan Viewpoint, Pong Dueat - Pang Pa Kha Nature Trail, Pong Dueat Hot Spring, Mae Yen Waterfall, Hua Chang Waterfall, Pong Dueat - Pa Kao Lam Nature Trail, Tang River and Mae Ping Waterfall. While the two moderate potential sites were Sob Pong Waterfall and Mae Had Waterfall. Five suitable management zones were assigned for Huai Nam Dang National Park. These included Primitive Zone, Special Use Zone, Recovery Zone, Intensive Use Zone and Outdoor Recreation Zone which covered the area of 1,052.544, 141.375, 32.271, 3.714 and 2.045 km2, respectively. It was found that existing recreational use in most areas was incompatible with the assigned management zones.
