การศึกษาแนวทางการจัดการขยะที่เหมาะสม สำหรับพื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติทางทะเล ด้วยการใช้วิจัยแบบมีส่วนร่วม

งานวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษารูปแบบ แนวทางการจัดการขยะและของเสียอันตรายที่เหมาะสมตามบริบทของพื้นที่อุทยานแห่งชาติทางทะเลในประเทศไทย พื้นที่ศึกษาคือ อุทยานแห่งชาติเขาแหลมหญ้า-หมู่เกาะเสม็ด จังหวัดระยอง และอุทยานแห่งชาติหมู่เกาะช้าง จังหวัดตราดใช้กระบวนการวิจัยเชิงปฏิบัติการแบบมีส่วนร่วม กลุ่มเป้าหมายคือ เจ้าหน้าที่อุทยานและท้องถิ่น ประชาชนในบริเวณพื้นที่ ผู้ประกอบการ ผู้ให้บริการ รวมถึงนักท่องเที่ยว ด้วยการใช้แบบสอบถาม สัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก และการสนทนากลุ่ม ประเด็นหลักของการศึกษาคือการจัดการขยะและของเสียอันตราย โดยพบว่าปัญหาของการจัดการขยะในพื้นที่มีสาเหตุมาจากจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวที่เพิ่มขึ้นตามฤดูกาลท่องเที่ยว และนักท่องเที่ยวบางส่วนมีพฤติกรรมไม่คัดแยกขยะก่อนทิ้ง อย่างไรก็ตามเมื่อพิจารณาสถิติการเพิ่มขึ้นของจำนวนนักท่องเที่ยวและปริมาณขยะ ในปี พ.ศ. 2559-2560 นั้น กลับมีทิศทางตรงกันข้าม เนื่องจากมีการจัดการขยะที่เข้มงวด มีการนำหลัก 3Rs มาใช้ การประชาสัมพันธ์ รณรงค์ และมีความร่วมมือกับเจ้าหน้าที่ส่วนท้องถิ่นและผู้เกี่ยวข้องอย่างใกล้ชิด ทำให้การจัดการขยะมีประสิทธิภาพมากขึ้น ทำให้ปริมาณลดลง สรุปได้ว่านอกจากจะต้องมีระบบการจัดการขยะและกฎระเบียบที่ดีแล้ว สิ่งสำคัญที่สุดคือ การมีส่วนร่วมของทุกภาคส่วน รณรงค์ สร้างจิตสำนึก ปรับเปลี่ยนพฤติกรรมผู้เกี่ยวข้อง ให้สอดคล้องตามบริบทและเงื่อนไขของพื้นที่ นอกจากนี้ยังสามารถนำไปใช้เป็นต้นแบบการจัดการขยะในพื้นที่อื่นๆ ได้ต่อไป
