The Development of 21st Century Leadership Skills of School Administrators under Nakhon Ratchasima Primary Educational Service Area Office

Abstract

Theobjectivesof this research were1) tostudy21stcenturyleadership skillsof school administratorsunder NakhonRatchasimaPrimaryEducationalService Area Office,2) toconstruct the guideline for developing 21st century leadership skills of school administrators under Nakhon Ratchasima Primary Educational Service Area Office, and 3) toassess the developed guideline.Thesamplegroup consisted of 365 administrators and headsof academic section, selected byusing multi stage random sampling technique. The researchexperimental group was a group of 15 school administrators from the Nongsarai Center of Educational Standard, Pakchong District Nakhon Ratchasima. The findings revealed that 1) four skills of the 21st century leadership of school administrators under Nakhon Ratchasima Primary Educational Service Area Office wereat thehighest level;humanrelationship, planningskills, teambuilding, and problem solving skills. In addition, two skills were at high level; communication and motivationskills, which were mostneeded skills by the school administratorsunder Nakhon Ratchasima Primary Educational Service Area Office. 2) The guideline for developing 21st century leadership skills for the communication and the motivation skills was based on the self-development approach. 3)Theassessmentof theconstructed guideline was conducted by the experimental group of 15 school administrators. The assessment results showed that the guideline had the utility at the highest level, and the feasibility and propriety were at the high level.
