The Development of Learning Achievement on Literary Value Analysis in Nirat Narin Kham Khlong Literature by SQ4R Reading Technique with Gamification for Grade 10 Students
Main Article Content
Abstract
Innovative learning approaches that foster analytical and critical thinking skills, alongside enhancing learner engagement, are imperative for the study of intricate Thai literature. Therefore, this research aims to (1) compare learning achievement before and after implementing an instructional approach on the analysis of literary values in Nirat Narin Kham khlong literature using the SQ4R reading technique combined with gamification learning for Mathayom 4 (10th grade) students, and (2) evaluate the development of learning achievement between pre- and post-instruction using the SQ4R reading technique combined with gamification learning”. The research sample consisted of 31 students from Matthayom 4/8 at Benjamarachutit School in Pattani Province, selected through purposive sampling. Research instruments included (1) lesson plans on literary value analysis and (2) learning achievement tests on literary value analysis. Data were analyzed using Mean, Standard Deviation (S.D.), and Dependent t-test.
The research findings revealed that (1) post-learning achievement was significantly higher than pre-learning achievement after instruction using the SQ4R reading technique combined with gamification at the 0.05 significance level, and (2) students' development assessment using relative growth scores showed an overall average increase of 51.18%, indicating a high level of development. These results demonstrate that the learning management approach enhances students' learning motivation and develops their critical reading skills as well as systematic and logical analytical and evaluative competencies.
