A Study of The Effects on Recreation Activities for Developing Leadership Skills of Undergraduate Students in Faculty of Education, Kasetsart University

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study the effects of recreation activities and to compare the results of recreational activities to develop leadership skills for developing leadership skills on undergrad students, Faculty of Education Kasetsart University. Participants in this study were 30 undergraduate students who enrolled in 01174231 Introduction to Recreation in the second semester of the year 2018. The participants were randomized by purposive selection. The instruments used in this study were the leadership skill test and student's weekly journals. Mean and Standard Deviation we reutilized for analyzing data.
The findings indicated that students’ leadership skill scores were higher. Development of leadership skills through recreational activities according to the APIE (Assessment, Planning, Implementation, and Evaluation) concept is considered to be the core used in the development of student's skills, especially the implementation at every step of the students' vision of problems, obstacles, and management. Those problems and obstacles are through a group process, division of work according to duties according to skills to make the work or activities that come out to be the most effective learning good leadership skills learning exchange and reflection this allows students to participate in recreational activities with participation and create a good experience.
