Main Article Content
Abstract
The purposes of this study were 1) to compare the problem solving ability of Prathom Suksa VI students on Demonstration School of Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University, Chachoengsao before and after taught with STEM Education in the Topic of Electric Circuit and 2) to compare science learning achievement of the samples using STEM Education in the Topic of Electric Circuit. The sample of this study were 25 Prathom Suksa VI students in academic year 2019 at Demonstration School of Rajabhat Rajanagarindra University in Chachoengsao Province, selected from one classroom. The sample was selected based on a cluster sampling. The research instruments comprised 1) learning management plans using STEM Education in the Topic of Electric Circuit, 2) Problem Solving Ability Test, the reliability of 0.80. and 3) Science Learning Achievement Test, the reliability of 0.85. Data collected were then analyzed using statistics, including frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation, and t-test.
The findings of this study indicated as follows: 1) after taught with STEM Education, the posttest score on problem solving ability of the sample was higher than pretest score with a statistical significance level of .05. In terms of individual elements of problem solving ability, an element with the highest level of development was problem analysis, followed by problem identification, solution identification, and verification and 2) after taught with STEM Education, the posttest score on science learning achievement of the sample was higher than pretest score with a statistical significance level of .05.
