Abstract

The objective of this research was to develop biological vocabulary understanding by explicit strategy with 5R model learning process management through classroom action research. The target group was Mathayomsuksa 5/1 students in the Science Math Program at Hatyaiwittayalai School, Songkhla province attending the first semester of the 2019 academic year (31 students) selected by purposive sampling. The instruments consisted of 5 lesson plans based on explicit strategy with 5R model learning, worksheets, the video record of the learning process, and weekly vocabulary quizzes. The arithmetic mean (gif.latex?\bar{x} ), percentage (%), and qualitative data from learning process management in the pattern were used to analyze. The result showed that the biological vocabulary understanding by explicit strategy with 5R model learning process continuously developed biological vocabulary understanding in four action research cycles. The percentage of arithmetic mean score regularly increased from the first cycle to the third cycle and slightly decreased in the fourth cycle. Overall development, 35.47 percent was increased from the first cycle to the fourth cycle. Qualitative data demonstrated that students’ biological vocabulary understanding was improved using the explicit strategy with 5R model.
