Realistic and Expected Conditions in the Socila Welfare Arrangements among Senior Citizens at Nongplong Sub-District Municipality, Chamni District, Buriram Provice

Abstract

This research aimed: 1) to study the realistic and expected conditions in the social welfare arrangements among the senior citizens at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province; and 2) to compare the realistic and expected conditions in the social welfare arrangements among the senior citizens at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province.   The samples of this research were 279 the senior citizens who living at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province. The research instruments was the realistic and expected conditions in the social welfare arrangements among the senior citizens at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province questionnaire.  The statistics used to analyze the collected data were mean, standard deviation, and dependent samples t-test. The findings were as follows.

          1) The senior citizens who living at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province have the realistic overall level for receiving social welfare at a moderate level.  When considering each side by mean ordering found that the health benefits with the most average ( = 3.58).  Following by the social welfare (= 3.25).  As for the income welfare, the mean was the least (= 3.18), respectively. The overall of the expected level of the social welfare was at a high level. When considering each side by mean ordering found that the social service welfare was at the highest mean (= 4.28) followed by the income welfare (= 4.17), the health benefits were the lowest (= 3.25), respectively.

2) The result of the comparison of the realistic and expected conditions in the social welfare arrangements among senior citizens at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province had the overall of the three aspects with statistically significant difference at .05 level. 

          3) The suggestions about the approach of the social welfare arrangements among the senior citizens at Nongplong sub-district municipality, Chamni district, Buriram province were; the senior citizens had a cash payment from Nongplong sub-district municipality because some seniors had to hire their relatives in order to manage their banking welfare payment.  If the seniors do that they would be insufficient welfare payments each month.  For instance, the seniors worked less but they still needed more subsistence allowances for spending each month.
