Abstract

Islamic integrated activity approach with Islamic values or contexts is one of the strategies that can be employed to enhance students' learning results. The purpose of this research was to develop statistical thinking using Islamic integrated activity approach on statistics course for junior
students in Islamic private school. The target group for this study comprised 167 junior students at Sangkhom Islam Wittaya School, during the second semester of the 2022 academic year. This group was made up of 55 students in grade 7, 56 in grade 8, and 56 in grade 9, selected through
cluster random sampling. The research instruments were 1) A learning plan of Islamic integrated on statistics course. which covered the four components of statistical thinking: describing data, organizing and reducing data, representing data, analyzing and interpreting data. This learning plan consisted of 4 plans for grade 7, 3 plans for grade 8 and 2 plans for grade 8, which has a quality of learning plans at the highest level with an average score ranging from 4.6 to 5.0. 2) A statistical thinking test that covered the four components of statistical thinking. Each component included two items, with three sets designed for different grade levels and the test demonstrated reliabilities of .85, .72, and .84, respectively. 3) A satisfaction assessment after learning activities. This assessment was divided into four dimensions: statistical thinking, Islamic integration, teaching and learning management, and overall satisfaction. The reliability of the assessment was found to be 0.87. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics and one sample test. The results showed that
junior students had 4 components of statistical thinking after using Islamic integrated activity approach higher than the minimum criteria statistical significantly at level .05 except for the analyzing and interpreting data component of the grade 7. Additionally, the junior students expressed a high level of satisfaction with the Islamic integrated activity approach used in the statistics course. However, it is necessary to enhance comprehensive Islamic learning activities by focusing on two components: analyzing and interpreting data, and describing data, as students have lower average scores in statistical thinking in these two mentioned components.
