A Study of Desirable Characteristic of Quality Students for Future Global Society

Abstract
This qualitative research aimed to study the desirable characteristics of quality students in the future global society using qualitative research method. The research methodology comprised of 2 steps, 1) Study research conceptual framework by reviewing 21 works of literature. The research instrument was synthetic content form. Data were analyzed using content analysis. 2) Evaluate the proposed desirable characteristics of the quality students for the future global society by (1) conducting a focus group with 21 experts and (2) conducting interviews with
6 students. Informants were chosen by a specific selection. The research instruments were opinion form and structured interview form. Data were analyzed using content analysis. The research findings were as follows; The desirable characteristics of the quality students for the future global society consisted of 4 main aspects with 10 sub-elements for each main aspect, namely, Aspect 1 Characteristics of Social and Emotional Leader, Aspect 2 Characteristics of Virtue, Ethical and Values leader, Aspect 3 Characteristics of Change leader, and Aspect 4 Characteristics of Innovative and Entrepreneurial leader. The research results will be able to guide policymakers or school administrators to determine the desirable characteristics of learners in accordance with the dynamic global social context. Schools should develop students' leadership to lead themselves and others in order to change the future world with sustainability.
