Promoting Self - Directed Learning of Moken Students in Moken Community Center in Pangnga Province Using Computer Assisted Instruction (CAI)

Abstract

This research was aimed 1) to invent and develop the Computer- Assisted Instruction (CAI) in promoting self- directed learning of Mogen students in Moken Community Center in Pangnga
Province to reach the efficient level at 75/75. 2) to study the learning development of the Moken students before and after using the Computer- Assisted Instruction 3) to explore the satisfaction
of the Moken students in Moken Community Center towards this CAI for self-directed learning. This experimental research was conducted by the researcher herself. The research subjects were
45 Moken students in Moken Community Center, Surin Islands, Pangnga Province. The research tools were composed of 6 learning conditions of self - directed learning Computer Assisted Instruction and the satisfaction questionnaire of the Moken students towards this CAI. All data was their analyzed by using frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and t - test Dependent.
The results showed that 1) the effectiveness of the CAI on promoting the self - directed learning of the Moken students had (E1/E2) 77.48/75.95 which was higher than the establish of requirement of 75/75. 2) The Moken students who studied with this CAI in promoting their self - directed learning had higher learning development than before using this CAI with the significant level of .01. 3) The Moken students in the Moken Community Center in Pangnga have the satisfaction towards the CAI at the highest level.
