Abstract

Academic article on the COVID-19 Situation: Impact and Adaptation of Airline Business. The objective of this article is to present a study, analysis of the impact and adaptation of airline business arising from the COVID-19 outbreak situation by studying from an academic article, research report and statistics data on airline business at the end of 2018-2020. The subject matter of this article consists of COVID-19 pandemic that caused international travel to be interrupted due to various countries are in lockdown, affects the world economy and also in Thailand. The result of airlines’ service suspension of airlines is a decrease in the air transportation revenue. Therefore, airlines have to find the methods and measures to deal with this situation for their survival such as the conversion of a passenger aircraft into a cargo aircraft to carry more cargo in cabin. There are currently several airlines have converted their passenger aircraft for example; Lufthansa, Korean Air, Emirates, Finnair, Austrian Airlines, Swiss Air, and Air Canada. Moreover, airlines offer similar services in domestics such as providing pointless flights, selling food, and airlines’ merchandise in a variety of ways.
