Main Article Content
Abstract
This research aimed to study the enhancement of local wisdom through the creative development of value-added products for commercialization in Phaya Mengrai subdistrict, Phaya Mengrai district, Chiang Rai Province. Data were collected from 30 local herbal farmers using in-depth interviews. The findings were analyzed through content analysis. The results revealed that adding value to local wisdom-based products for commercialization can be achieved through the development of a unique brand identity for the subdistrict. Regarding the design of packaging for chamomile tea to preserve product quality while appealing to consumers, the packaging consists of an outer layer made of white foil bags and an inner layer comprising transparent mesh tea bags with pull strings. A product label was also designed with white tones symbolizing cleanliness, complemented by golden-yellow tones representing chamomile flowers, and detailed product information included. Subsequently, the product underwent market testing through municipal activities including sales at community shops, distribution as gift baskets, and the development of online marketing channels via Facebook page to enable rapid communication with consumers.
