About the Journal
This journal has published several articles related to Japanese Studies since 1978. The Japan Foundation was a main sponsor to the journal, aiming to encourage professors and lecturers to create academic works on Japanese Studies. The original name of the journal was “The Academic Paper of Thai-Japanese Studies”. However, when the Center for Japanese Studies was established in 1984, the journal name was changed to “Journal of Thai-Japanese Studies”. The journal renamed on the third time to “Japanese Studies Journal” in 1995. Nowadays, the new title of the journal is “Thammasat Journal of Japanese Studies”, organized by Institute of East Asian Studies under the patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Aims and scope
Thammasat Journal of Japanese Studies aims to be a platform to promote and exchange the innovative knowledge about Japanese studies via research paper, academic paper, invited article, and book review. The Journal will be published original and quality articles related Japanese studies in history, economics, politics, international relations, business, sociology, anthropology, language, philosophy, literature, arts, and so on.

Publication Frequency
The journal published twice a year (biannually); 1st issue (January-June) and 2nd issue (July-December).
Peer Review Policy
The paper must have never been published in any journal before, nor is under consideration of another journal. Every paper will be assigned to three experts for peer review, except interview and seminar report. This journal uses the system of double-blind peer review, in which author and reviewers identities are concealed from each other.
Article Processing Charge
The journal is free of charge for publication.

วารสารญี่ปุ่นศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์ (Thammasat Journal of Japanese Studies: TJJS) ของสถาบันเอเชียตะวันออกศึกษา มหาวิทยาลัยธรรมศาสตร์ เริ่มจัดพิมพ์เผยแพร่ครั้งแรกในปี พ.ศ. 2527 ในชื่อ “วารสารไทย-ญี่ปุ่นศึกษา” และได้เปลี่ยนชื่อมาเป็น "วารสารญี่ปุ่นศึกษา" ตั้งแต่ พ.ศ. 2539 จนในปัจจุบันเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น "วารสารญี่ปุ่นศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์" ตั้งแต่ปี 2565 เป็นต้นมา โดยมีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อเป็นการส่งเสริมสนับสนุนให้คณาจารย์ นักวิจัย และนักวิชาการทั่วไป มีโอกาสเสนอผลงานวิชาการ เพื่อเผยแพร่และแลกเปลี่ยนองค์ความรู้ในด้านญี่ปุ่นศึกษา และนำไปสู่การสร้างองค์ความรู้ใหม่ที่เป็นประโยชน์ต่อการพัฒนาสังคมและประเทศชาติในเชิงบูรณาการ TJJS อยู่ในฐานข้อมูลดัชนีอ้างอิงวารสารไทยกลุ่มที่ 2 (TCI-2) ในปัจจุบันวารสารเผยแพร่ในรูปแบบออนไลน์
วารสารญี่ปุ่นศึกษาธรรมศาสตร์รับพิจารณาบทความที่ส่งเสริมองค์ความรู้ทุกด้านของญี่ปุ่นศึกษา โดยเฉพาะด้านสังคมศาสตร์และมนุษยศาสตร์ เช่น ประวัติศาสตร์ เศรษฐศาสตร์ รัฐศาสตร์ บริหารธุรกิจ สังคมวิทยา มานุษยวิทยา ภาษา ปรัชญา วรรณกรรม ศิลปะ วัฒนธรรม และความสัมพันธ์ระหว่างประเทศ เป็นต้น โดยประเภทของบทความที่เปิดรับ ประกอบด้วย 1. บทความวิจัย (Research Article) 2. บทความวิชาการ (Academic Article) 3. บทความรับเชิญ (Invited Article) 4. บทวิจารณ์หนังสือหรือบทปริทัศน์หนังสือ (Book Review) และ 5. บทความสัมภาษณ์หรือรายงานการประชุมสัมมนา (Interview Report or Seminar Report) ทั้งนี้ บทความนั้นจะต้องไม่เคยตีพิมพ์ในวารสารใดมาก่อน และไม่อยู่ในระหว่างการพิจารณาของวารสารอื่น บทความวิจัย บทความวิชาการ และบทความรับเชิญจะต้องผ่านการประเมินคุณภาพจากผู้ทรงคุณวุฒิในสาขาที่เกี่ยวข้องอย่างน้อย 3 ท่าน โดยใช้ระบบ Double-blind peer review (ผู้พิจารณาไม่ทราบชื่อผู้เขียน และผู้เขียนไม่ทราบชื่อผู้พิจารณา) ส่วนงานวิชาการประเภทอื่นต้องผ่านกระบวนการพิจารณาจากบรรณาธิการวารสาร
