  • Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts objectively, fairly, and honestly, without personal bias.
  • Reviewers must not seek personal benefit or engage in any conflict of interest with the authors or the content of the manuscript.
  • Reviewers should promptly inform the editor if they identify concerns regarding plagiarism, duplication, or significant overlap with other published works.
  • Reviewers must respect the double-blind peer review process and must not attempt to identify or seek information about the authors.
  • Reviewers must submit their review reports within the specified timeframe and notify the editor promptly if they are unable to complete the review as assigned.
  • Reviewers may recommend relevant references or sources that could help improve the quality and scholarly value of the manuscript.

  1. Roles, Duties, and Responsibilities of Editors

Editors are responsible for the quality, integrity, and credibility of all articles published in the journal and must perform their duties in accordance with ethical principles as follows:

  • Editors have the authority to accept or reject manuscripts based on academic quality, significance, originality, and relevance to the scope of the journal.
  • Editors must not consider manuscripts that have been previously published or are simultaneously under consideration by another journal or publication.
  • Editors must treat all authors fairly and without discrimination.
  • Editors must make decisions impartially and must not seek personal benefit or engage in any conflict of interest.
  • Editors must maintain the confidentiality of information related to authors and reviewers and must not disclose such information to unauthorized parties.
  • Editors must ensure that the manuscript review and decision-making process is conducted transparently, fairly, and in a manner that is auditable and accountable.

  1. Guidelines for the Use and Citation of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Research

The Journal of Architecture, Design and Construction (JADC) permits the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a supportive tool for scholarly work, under the conditions of transparency and accountability. Authors are required to:

  • Specify the name and version of the AI tool used.
  • Describe the purpose and nature of the AI usage.
  • Indicate the period of use and the organization or entity that developed the AI tool.
  • Disclose the limitations of AI use and the procedures undertaken for human verification and quality control.

AI tools must not be listed as co-authors, and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, integrity, and credibility of all content presented in the manuscript.

Example of AI Citation

  • “This study used ChatGPT (version 5), developed by OpenAI, to analyze interview transcripts. The tool was accessed on 15 October 2024 via https://chat.openai.com.”

Additional Examples of AI Use in Research Across Various Contexts

  • AI for Natural Language Processing:

“Sentiment analysis of social media comments was conducted using the BERT (Bidirectional Encoder Representations from Transformers) model developed by Google AI Language, accessed via the Hugging Face Transformers library (version 4.28.1) on 20 September 2024.”

  • AI for Image Generation:

“Illustrations in Chapter 3 were generated using Midjourney v5.2, an AI-based text-to-image generation tool developed by Midjourney, Inc. Images were created between 1–5 November 2024 via the Discord platform.”

  • AI for Statistical Data Analysis:

“Trend analysis and forecasting were performed using Prophet version 1.1, a time-series forecasting library developed by Facebook’s Core Data Science team, executed via Python 3.9 on 12 December 2024 (Facebook, Inc., 2024).”

  • AI for Language Translation:

“Translation of documents from English to Thai was conducted using the DeepL Translator API version 2.1, developed by DeepL GmbH, between 5–10 January 2025 via https://www.deepl.com/translator.”

  • AI for Text Summarization:

“Summaries of academic articles in Appendix A were generated using Claude 3.5 Sonnet, a large language model developed by Anthropic, accessed via the Anthropic API on 18 February 2025.”

Disclosure of Limitations and Quality Control

For all examples, authors should additionally disclose limitations and quality assurance measures in the relevant sections of the research, for example:

  • “Outputs generated by AI were reviewed and revised by subject-matter experts to ensure accuracy and appropriateness. Limitations of AI use in this process include [specify specific limitations], which were addressed by [describe mitigation or verification procedures].”
