Abstract
This article is part of a research paper on the relationship of environment and stress among undergraduate students. Faculty of Architecture and Environmental Design, Maejo University. The objectives are 1) to know the stress level, factors that affect stress and how to relieve stress of undergraduate students Faculty of Architecture and Environmental Design, Maejo University 2) to find a conclusion on the design, improvements of the area and the appropriate environment to reduce the stress of the students. The research population was undergraduate students of the Faculty of Architecture and Environmental Design, Maejo University in a total of 411 students. The formula is used to calculate the sample of Taro Yamane number of 205 students. The research instrument consists of content analysis. It seeks to determine the relationship between a positive environment and stress among undergraduate students. The research showed that the environment is one of the external factors that could affect stress both negatively and positively. For the quantitative data analysis, frequency, percentage, and mean methods were used for example Suanprung Stress Test (SPST-20), space utilization questionnaire in the faculty for stress relief and surveys of support areas within the faculty that support stress and what student needs. By using a survey of space usage, satisfaction with public space by a Likert's Scale, a set of questions based on criteria and success factors, Project for Public Space.
The results showed that 46 percent of the students had a severe stress level, requiring care and support. In addition, the students agreed that the environment was an external factor associated with stress. And improving the environment of the faculty's common areas (physical) will help support the stress of the students. This leads to suggestions on how to improve the common area to meet the needs and serve as a support area for creative activities. Support the stress for students to continue.
