The Development of Occupational Training Model Based on Buddhist Way for Stack Soldier Services of Suranaree military camp, Nakhon Ratchasima

Abstract

The purposes of this research study were: 1) to study the history of occupational training model based on Buddhist way of stack soldier services of Suranaree Military Camp in Nakhon Ratchasima, 2) to study the current situation and problems of occupational training model development based on Buddhist way, and 3) to study the development of occupational training model based on Buddhist way of stack soldier services of Suranaree Military Camp in Nakhon Ratchasima. The participants of this study included 130 stack soldiers who were going to discharge and 25 military trainers. Five provided occupational training courses were electrician, steel bending, carpenter, driver, and compost fertilizer. The training courses took 144 hours. The results revealed the problems as follows: policy implementation, human resources, budget, and time management. The training courses employed both theory and practice. Besides, the participants needed to pass the morality and ethical test in five aspects as follows: honesty, industriousness, thriftiness, punctuality, and discipline after the training courses and before the discharge. All 130 participants passed both occupational skill test and morality and ethical test. The participants who took the driving course passed the occupational training course and had received the driving license. In terms of the attitude test, the majority of the participants agreed with the occupational training course. Meanwhile, they also received the manual and acknowledged the importance of the occupational training. The attitude of the participants towards the occupational trainers was in the high level. The overall of the participants was able to employ this knowledge to earn for their living after their discharge.  In summary, the participants had practiced according to the occupational training courses. In prior to their implementation for their living, they all had to pass the five aspects of the morality and ethical test based on the Buddhist way
