Abstract

This research aimed to 1) study green mussel supply chain management; 2) analyze supply chain activities; and 3) propose guidelines for participatory supply chain management in Khok Kham Sub-district, Mueang District, Samut Sakhon Province. A mixed-methods research design was employed. Quantitative data were collected from green mussel farmers and analyzed using descriptive statistics, while focus group discussions were conducted for content analysis. The findings revealed that 1) Supply chain management is an integrated system combining traditional practices with modern technology, primarily relying on middlemen while expanding into online marketing and value-added processing. 2) Supply chain activities are adapted to the local context; primary activities directly impact the efficiency of cultivation and distribution processes, while support activities play a crucial role in enhancing sustainability and competitiveness. 3) Guidelines for participatory management emphasize community-level collaboration, the promotion of information technology for data management, and the development of product standards and branding. Furthermore, support from the government and academic institutions is essential to enhance competitive potential and ensure long-term economic, social, and environmental sustainability.
