Abstract

The survey of 519 bachelor’s degree students in 2019 reveals information about ICT technology integration in Thailand before the COVID-19 pandemic. The areas of class management by technology platform, technology in study material, and internet and program service were not scored highly by university students. Students’ knowledge of useful technologies for education, their ICT skills, and use for specific purposes were at the level of showing room for improvement. Based on interview with 17 university instructors listing the common practices before and during COVID-19, a list of SWOT factors including strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats was prepared and was scored in a range from 1 (least preferred) to 9 (most preferred). The analytic hierarchy process (AHP) is a method using weighted scores to rank the importance of factors, instead of simply ranking factors in order of the average scores. COVID-19 clearly encouraged more technology integration, and is driving people to experience more technology integration. When the epidemic is over, upskilling in new technologies would be advantageous to motivate people in the strong use of technology integration.
