SCHOOL AS PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY: THE DEVELOPMENT OF MODE OF SCHOOL PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITY FOR SUSTAINABLE LEARNING TRANSFORMATION

Abstract
This research was conducted in the form of Research and Development with the following objectives: 1) To develop a model using Professional Learning Community (PLC) for promoting learning management based on active learning; 2) To assess the Professional Learning Community (PLC) model on teacher development. The research participants were 99 Mathayomsuksa teachers who work at Takuapasenanukoon School located in Phang-nga . The research tools were as follows; 1) Assessment form on the development teacher’s understanding of PLC; 2) Assessment form of teacher’s practice; 3) Semi-structural Interview Questions; and 4) Assessment Form of teachers' opinions on the process of PLC in promoting active learning; Research data was analyzed using content analysis and statistical analysis frameworks. The School Professional Development Model can be presented with the most significant characteristics: 1) Shared school vision on learning; 2) Professional learning opportunities for all staff; 3) Collaborative work and learning; 4) Change of school organization ‘s Management and Working culture, and 5) Building the Academic Learning leadership. Since the progress of School PLC, the school has changed the teachers’ working cultures and their level of mutual acceptance of knowledge, experience and teamwork is increasing. The success of PLC also depends on having the best learning networking as teamwork members can support the school-based PLC coaching.
