Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • Your manuscript adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in our Guidelines on Article Style and Citation Style.
  • Your manuscript has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • Your manuscript has the correct citation format and has undergone the process of obtaining permission to use copyrighted materials from their owners without violating copyright law in quoting and reproducing.
  • You have prepared the original manuscript along with other relevant files in accordance with conditions specified by JES which are ready to be uploaded.
  • Once your manuscript is submitted, you accept that if your article is selected, it will be considered as article under the copyright of Centre for European Studies (CES) at Chulalongkorn University.

Author Guidelines

1. Pre-submission Procedures

    1.1. Those interested in writing and submitting original manuscript to be considered for publication must strictly adhere to conditions specified by JES (see “Article Style”).

    1.2. Original manuscript should be prepared and revised in Microsoft Word prior to submission.

    1.3. As JES has adopted the double-blinded peer-review procedure in the article review process, author(s) should check the original files both in .docx and .pdf extension that the author’s name is not displayed in any part of the article.

 

 2. Submission Procedures

    2.1. JES encourages all authors to submit their manuscripts via ThaiJo system. 

    2.2. If the author is not registered to the ThaiJo system, please register to create a new user account in the registration page and provide necessary contact information.

    2.3. Authors can start the article submission procedures by clicking “Submissions” on the top right corner of JES website then log in to the system.

    2.4. On the page “1. Start,” please specify the article’s main language, complete the comments for the editor then click save and continue. During this process, the author(s) accept that the selected article for publication will be considered as articles under the copyright of Centre for European Studies (CES) at Chulalongkorn University.

    2.5. On the page “2. Upload Submission,” please specify article component and upload the original manuscript both in .docx and .pdf extension along with other relevant files (see “Article Style”). Figures, tables and charts will be considered as “Other” article component.

    2.6. On the page “3. Enter Metadata,” please specify the article’s title, abstract, author’s information and keywords both in Thai and English (or only in English for English manuscripts) in accordance to the website guidelines.

    2.7. On the page “4. Confirmation,” please confirm the submission of the original manuscript which will be proceeded to the editorial later on.

 

 3. Post-submission Procedures

    3.1. If the editorial has not rejected the original manuscript, the editorial will proceed to the peer-review procedure. The manuscript will be reviewed by 2 reviewers which will take approximately 1-2 months. Authors can check the status of their manuscripts via ThaiJo system.

    3.2. After receiving comments from the reviewers, the editorial will report the evaluation result by email. Articles selected for publication will be labelled as “Passed” or “Needs to be modified but does not need to be reviewed again” in which the authors should follow the reviewers’ comments in modifying their articles.

    3.3. In the case where the manuscript needs to be modified, the author(s) should resubmit the edited manuscript within 30 days after receiving the comments from the 2 reviewers through the channel they have used to submit the original manuscript for the first time.

    3.4. If your article is accepted for publication, you will be informed via Thaijo system.

    3.5. In the publication process, the editorial reserves the right to decide when your article will be published. Once your article is published, you will be informed via Thaijo system.
