Abstract
Comparisons of Potential of English Teachers of Roi-et Primary
Educational Area with Different Levels of Experience and Motivation
for collecting data was questionnaire with 3 parts ; part 1 : a 3-item check list
inventory on experience, part 2 : a 14-item rating scale inventory on motivation and
part 3 : a 26-item rubric score inventory on potential with discrinating powers ranging
.29- .86 . The reliability of questionnaire of .95 . The statistics used for analyzing the
collected data were percentage, mean, standard deviation and F-test (Two-way
ANOVA).
The results of the study were as follows:
1. English teachers of Roi-et Primary Educational Area had planning
potential, teaching potential, media potential and research potential at a medium
level while evaluation potential and environment potential were at a high level.
2. English teachers with experience and motivation at a high level
had higher potential in every aspect than those with potential at medium and low
level; and English teachers with experience and motivation at a medium level had
higher potential in every aspect than those with potential at a low level at the .05
level of significance.
3. There were statistical interactions between experience and motivation
which could affect potential in every aspect except planning potential at the .05 level
of significance.
In conclusion, experience and motivation of English teachers affect to
potential in every aspect and they were interaction with each other at the .05 level of
significance. Therefore, they were adopted to improve and develop these factors to
lead to potential of English teachers in order to make the guidelines for promoting and
developing English teacher’s potential.
