A Factor Analysis of Self-Reliance of the Students Attending the Secondary Schools under the Offce of Nong Bua Lam Phu Educational Service Area

Abstract

Self-reliance was an important factor in country and human development for being
a qualifed person. Once a person relied on themselves, they could assist others and act
as a guideline for others to follow which would beneft to a family, community and country.
This research aimed to analyze factors of self-reliance of the students in the secondary
schools under the Offce of Nong Bua Lam Phu Educational Service Area. The research
samples consisted of 1,071 secondary school students attending the second semester of
the academic year of 2010, obtained using the multi-stage rando sampling technique.
Research instruments were a fve-scale questionnaire. Data were analyzed by means the
exploratory factors analysis.
The results of the research revealed that : the factors of self- reliance of the students
in the secondary schools under the Offce of Nong Bua Lam Phu Educational Service Area
consisted of 9 elements and the factors loading ranking from the highest to the lowest
were responsibility, belief of self capabilities, motivation, adapting ability, family relationship,
self valuing, positive communication, relationship in school and self recognition
