The Development Model of Sustainable Religious Inheritors: A Case Study of Wat Kiat Kaew Samakkhi, Sriratana District, Sisaket Province

Abstract

The objectives of the article were  1)  to study the principles of religious inheritor development according to the Buddhist method,  2)  to study the concept of human resource development for sustainable development, and  3)  to analyze the model of religious inheritor development for sustainable development of Wat LKiat Kaew Samakkhi, Sriratana District , Sisaket Province  .  It was the qualitative research with the fieldwork based on the related documentary data and the focus groups, presented by descriptive analysis.

The findings pointed out that 1)The principles of religious inheritor development according to the Buddhist method were Gantha-dhura and Vipassana-Dhura  the Buddha instructed all the monks to do as their duties and to study morality (Sila), concentration (Samadhi), and  wisdom (Panna) so as to fulfill their life living. 2) The concept of human resource development for sustainable development was the training to enhance knowledge  and understanding through the study process, implementing the knowledge of everyone to develop oneself in life living in the present situation appropriately. 3)The model of religious heir development of Kiat Kaew Samakkhi Temple in Sriratana District, Sisaket Province  for sustainable development emphasized the Pali language studies as the major subject with common subjects as the minor based on the Buddhist method as Gantha-dhura all the monks have to study in the aspect of Pariyattidhamma,  the Bhuddha’s doctrines and as Vipassana-dhura, the work derived from Gantha-dhura  the monks have to practice to learn to comprehend according to the truth.
