FACTORS INFLUENCING THE ENTREPRENEURIAL MINDSET OF BUSINESS STUDENTS IN LIUZHOU INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, CHINA

Abstract

This research articles aimed to 1) study the personality traits, entrepreneurial education, and entrepreneurial mindset of business administration students at Liuzhou Institute of Technology, China, and 2)study of factors influencing personality and entrepreneurial education on the entrepreneurial mindset of business administration students at Liuzhou Institute of Technology, China. The population consisted of business administration students at Liuzhou Institute of Technology, China. Data were collected from a sample of 184 students. The research instrument used was a questionnaire designed to gather information on personality, entrepreneurial education, and entrepreneurial mindset. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, including mean, standard deviation, and percentage. Hypotheses were tested using inferential statistics, namely multiple regression analysis.

The findings indicated that the personality traits of openness ( =3.61, S.D.=.880), conscientiousness ( =3.58, S.D.=.844), extraversion ( =3.41, S.D.=.883), and agreeableness ( =3.71, S.D.=.866) were at a high level, while neuroticism ( =3.29, S.D.=.958) was at a moderate level. Entrepreneurial education ( =3.25, S.D.=.872) had a mean score at a moderate level. The overall entrepreneurial mindset, as well as every aspect of entrepreneurial mindset ( =3.35, S.D.=.773), also had mean scores at a moderate level. Factors that had a statistically significant influence on the entrepreneurial mindset of business administration students at Liuzhou Institute of Technology, China included entrepreneurial education and the personality traits of openness, extraversion, and conscientiousness.
