Analyzing the Dhamma propagating role of Kruba Chao Sriwichai

Abstract

This research has the objectives   1)  to study the Dhamma propagating role  according to the Buddhist way  2)  to study the Dhamma propagating role of Kruba Chao Sriwichai   3)  to analyze the Dhamma propagating role of Kruba Chao Sriwichai.  This was the qualitative research, studying the issues of propagating Buddhism and Dhamma propagating of Phra Kruba Sriwichai Siriwichayo and analyzing the Dhamma propagating role of Phra Kruba Sriwichai Siriwichayo.

The research results found that as for the Dhamma propagating role according to the Buddhist way,  temples are everything to society, that is, they centralize  the people’s minds.  In these roles the monks representing the temple become the spiritual leaders of the people, a center of respect, trust and cooperation.  In this sense, the temples become a guarantee of national security as places making the people united.  Phrakruba Sriwichai had ideas and methods for creating work and often played a role in Dhamma propagating by practice.  He created work to get belief and faith from the people by his actions, thereby giving morals for people.  As for the Dhamma teachings,  Phrakruba Sriwichai built a large number of them.  He diligently practiced the Sikkha and Discipline and followed the rules as the Buddha taught. He improved his personality to be very respectable as a special characteristic called “Tonbun”.   Phra Kruba Sriwichai was one of the most famous monks of Lanna and played an important role as a community leader and the center of belief and faith.  That was because of strict and honorable practices and methods as well as the social context, including various public works, such as roads and bridges spreading in the northern region.  All these were Avasadana, a charity perfection.
