Strengthening the Network for Waste Management by Integrated Buddhist Communities in Phayao Province

Abstract

The objectives of the research were to strengthen the network for waste management by the integrated Buddhist communities in Phayao Province. It was qualitative research. The tools were interview formats with 5 groups of 35 key informants by using reference sampling people and experts. Phayao Province was used as the research area. The data were analyzed with description and the images of activities were presented. .

The findings of the research were as follows: Strengthening the waste management network by integrated Buddhist communities pushed and supported activities related to waste management at the community level with 4 principles:

1) Coordinating with agencies or organizations in the area created cooperation by contacting local agencies. 2) Waste management in the community was supported or received a budget. 3) Investment management or various materials and equipment were received from other agencies or organizations. 4) Promotion and obstacles in community waste management set goals, raising awareness and opening opportunities for participation. As for the obstacles, they included resource limitations and changed in public behavior.
