A Synthesis of Students’ Report of Teaching Practicum in School 1 in Teaching Social Studies Program, Faculty of Education, Mahamakut Buddhist University, Semester 2020

This research aims to synthesize the results of the students’ Teaching Practicum in School 1, to analyze the consistency between the report of Teaching Practicum in School 1 and Professional Standards according to the Teachers’ Council of Thailand regulations On Standards (No.4) B.E. 2562, and to suggest the curriculum development guidelines for the major of teaching social studies in the course of teaching practicum. This qualitative research synthesized the document content by using the report assessment form, the synthetic form of learning record form, the synthetic form of learning summary form, and the form of unstructured interview in order to inquiry the participants involved with the professional standards. The results showed that; The overall evaluation of the teaching practicum report is correct according to the manual given. There are only some points which are different.
The result of synthesizing the learning record forms no. 1-6 revealed that (1) all the university students understood the importance of general affairs in the same way (2) the university students found the problems in learning and they applied The principle of Kalyanamitta-Dhamma to solve the problems (3) the university students managed the classroom and dealt with the problems by providing the motivational learning activity and the techniques for reducing study time and increasing learning time (4) for visiting children’s home, the students provided two visiting forms, both formal (2 times per semester) and informal (5) inter-school relationship activities were derived from meeting on various occasions, visiting children’s home, and social activities (6) learning atmosphere management resulted from non-teaching techniques.
The result of synthesizing the learning summary in term of the teaching practicum showed that the learning outcomes of the teaching practicum resulted from the six types of learning record form in which led to the synthesis, the analysis, and the knowledge management in order to present the strength, the development guidelines, the mindset from learning processes.
The result of synthesizing the consistency, between the report of Teaching Practicum in School 1 and Professional Standards according to the Teachers’ Council of Thailand regulations On Standards (No.4) B.E. 2562, revealed the three points of consistency; (1) the students’ performance as a teacher (2) the learning management (3) the inter-relationship among school, parents, and community.
The development guidelines of the teaching social studies program in Teaching Practicum 1 for the year-one students were likely to have Holistic development according to the 333 model, namely (1) the 3-guideline model; preparation, process, and evaluation (2) the 3-person model; professional teacher, mentor, and student (3) 3-dimension model; physical development, mental development, and wisdom development.
