Abstract

          The performer of the Ranat Ek (Thai Xylophone) is considered an important part of the Traditional Thai Music Ensemble, which aims to bring the performance up to standard according to Thai music Ensemble principles.
This article, therefore, presents the essence of the Ranat Ek in the Traditional Thai Music Ensemble that is related to the characteristics of the xylophone performer are: tact and improvisation, clear communication, the technique for using the signal to communicate, and precision understanding of the song as well as performing the melodic progression of Ranat Ek player for leading the Traditional Thai Music Ensemble.
