Developing Program to Enhance 21st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management Course

Abstract

The purposes of this research article were: 1) to develop a program for enhancing the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management,
2) to develop a tool for assessing the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management for English major students, and 3) to self-assess the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management for English major students. The samples selected through a purposive sampling consisted of 49 fourth-year undergraduate students, majoring in English, Faculty of Education, Phetchabun Rajabhat University, enrolling English Camp Management course in the first semester of the academic year 2020. The research findings were as follows: 1) the program for enhancing the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management was used for teaching for 16 weeks: 4 hours a week. This program consists of 7 topics, and 7 tasks that cover all 5 aspects of the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills. There were practical exercises both in the classroom and in real-life situations. and personal and group assignments were used to assess students. 2) The tool for assessing the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management for English major students consists of 54 questionnaire items covering all 5 aspects of the 21^st Century Learnine Skills in Life & Career Skills, there were 5 level scales according to the students' skills, and 3) the result of self-assessments on the 21^st Century Learning Skills in Life & Career Skills through English Camp Management for English major students showed that in overall aspect, the samples assessed themselves at a high level ( = 4.28, S.D. = 0.654).
