Development of Innovation in Academic Service Management at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin

Abstract
This research article has three objectives: 1) to study the management of academic services at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, 2) to identify problems in the management of academic services at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin, and 3) to propose innovative developments for the management of academic services at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin. This study employed a qualitative research approach, utilizing documentary research and in-depth interviews. The scope of the study was based on synthesized concepts derived from the guidelines of the Office of the Higher Education Commission and the Internal Quality Assurance Manual for Higher Education Institutions B.E. 2557 (2014). Data were collected through interviews with 22 key informants, including university administrators, heads of university units, university personnel, and community representatives. All informants possessed relevant experience related to the research topic and had specialized expertise or in-depth knowledge, which was essential for providing meaningful and substantive information. The collected data were analyzed using thematic analysis.
The research findings revealed that: 1) the management of academic service operations at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin consists of four key components: academic service management, responsiveness to community and societal needs, the application of technology in academic service development, and personnel participation in academic service activities; 2) the major problems in academic service management that require urgent improvement include expertise in providing academic services, the availability of reliable academic references, social leadership, community development, faculty development, integration of academic services into teaching and research, network building and stakeholder participation, and the role of academic services as a source of university income; and 3) the proposed development of innovative academic service management at Rajamangala University of Technology Rattanakosin comprises guidelines for academic service development, characteristics of innovative academic service management, support and promotion mechanisms for innovation development, integration of academic knowledge, and expectations of service recipients.
