The Renovation and Interior Environment in the Residences of Dormitories in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi

Abstract

The objectives of this research are in order to study the problems and needs of the student in Rajamangala University of Technology Thanyaburi dormitory. Also, in order to propose a guideline for renovation and designing of the interior environment in the residences of dormitories. The research tool are the structured interview and the rating scale questionnaire according to Likert's method. The statistics used to analyze the data are percentage, mean, standard deviation and priority needs index. The research method is survey the interior environment in the residences of dormitories. Then collect data about the problems and needs of the sample group. The results of the research revealed that the sample group values ​​privacy and personal space very seriously. Also, need a living area, dining area, and personal storage while without the need for kitchen, dressing area, and green area. The rooms are designed with the color of the university (blue), using wood as the main material for decoration and furniture, and using modern style in the design.
