Environmental Density and its impacts on children and teenagers’ behaviours
Main Article Content
Abstract
Environmental density is a social and physical context which influences human living conditions at a diverse range of ages. Since children and teenagers are important human resources for the future generation, it is necessary to promote development and life quality for them by providing a suitable physical environment. In order to understand the impact of the physical environment on children and teenagers, it is vital to consider the environmental density at the community level, the external and internal environment of the buildings and grounds. According to previous research, environmental density has both direct and indirect impacts on children and teenagers’ behaviours. For example, it influences their perception of the environmental density and social isolation. Moreover, environmental density also affects social interactions, different gender orientations, age gap, motivation, awareness and cooperation in learning and participating in activities. Thus, understanding that crucial factor can help stakeholders and enthusiasts solve the problem of environmental density and seek suitable guidelines to improve it.
