Historical and Physical Identity through the Process of Participatory Approach A case study of Ban Chiang Hian, Khwao Sub District, Maha Sarakam Province

Abstract

This research aimed to study the historical and physical identity through the process of participatory approach of Ban Chiang Hian community, Khwao sub district, Maha Sarakam province, and to provide identity information of Ban Chiang Hian in oder to establish and encourage identity’s recognition of people in the community. Research participants included people in Ban Chiang Hian, children and leaders in the community. Research methods included group interview and activity participation of the community meetings. The research found that (1) the target group should be coverage. (2) Community participation must have a key person who could drive the identity process. (3) Research methods should be various. (4) The community should searching key person who could collaborate with organizations or other sections that related to the process. (5) Goal setting should be managed during a suitable period by people in the community. Community shared information should relate to local history and culture in order to support the pride of their community.
