The Buddha's teaching Strategies on figurative Languages in Suttanta-pitaka

Abstract

This is article is a part of dissertation entitled the Buddha's Teaching Strategies on Figurative Languages in Suttanta-Pitaka. The objectives of this research were (1) to study the teachings methods used by the Buddha, (2) to study the figures of speech in the Buddha's teachings and (3) to study values in the Buddha's teachings. The study is documentary in nature. The data used   were collected from book 9 to book 11 of Thai Tipitaka Mahachulalongkornrajavidyalaya University. The results of the study are as follows: The Buddha’s methodology of teaching in Buddha era, the Buddha used the teaching strategies to adapt himself in different circumstances such that     (1) answer and question (2) lecture (3) dialogue. The first Buddha's teaching strategies on figurative languages mostly are as follows: Simile and Synecdoche. The values in the Buddha's teachings divided into 6 parts such that (1) people  (2) socio-culture (3) learning (4) teaching (5) solar system and (6) history of Buddhism.
