The Process of Enhancing the Volunteering Spirit and Social Responsibility of the International Youths

Abstract

This research article aims to investigate the process of enhancing the volunteering spirit and social responsibility of the international youths. The convergent parallel mixed-method methodology was implemented in the research. A case study approach was employed in qualitative research methodology, and quasi experimental research approach was employed in quantitative research methodology. Target group was 30 international youths from 6 countries, who were meet the inclusion criteria. Qualitative research tool consisted of interview guideline, participatory observation and non-participatory observation, and quantitative research tool consisted of the activity set “Hybrid Digital Module [HDM]” and questionnaire. Research results found that the process of enhancing the volunteering spirit and social responsibility of the international youths is carried out based on Leist Model. Model is conceptualized and integrated by holistic view under 4 dimensions included learning, inspiring, social networking, and transformation. These processed allowed international youths performing their own practical projects in local areas, totally 9 projects.
