Abstract

The research article entitled “Guidelines for the Administration of Sangha Affairs based on the Buddhist Integration of Sangha Administrators in Nonthaburi Province” consisted of three objectives, namely: 1) to study the conditions of the administration of Sangha affairs of Sangha administrators in Nonthaburi province, 2) to study the Buddhist doctrines promoting the administration of Sangha affairs, and 3) to present guidelines for the administration of Sangha Affairs based on the Buddhist integration of Sangha administrators in Nonthaburi province. This is a qualitative research by studying the scope of content, area, duration, and key informants. From the study, it was found that there are six guidelines for the administration of Sangha Affairs based on the Buddhist integration of Sangha administrators in Nonthaburi province as follows: 1) Governance by integrating Aparihāniyadhamma (Conditions of Welfare) for the prosperity of the Sangha by adhering to the Dhamma Vinaya, laws, regulations, and orders; 2) Religious education by integrating Trisikkhā (the Threefold training) for the arrangement of Pariyatti-Dhamma education for monks and novices; 3) Education welfare by integrating Saṅgahavatthu (Bases of social solidarity) for the arrangement of education which focuses on cultivating morality and ethics for children and youth; 4) Propagation of Buddhism by integrating the Buddhist teaching methods; 5) Monastic Compound Construction by integrating Brahmavihāra (the Four noble sentiments) and Bhāvanā (mental development) for the implementation of temple development; and 6) Public welfare by integrating Sārāṇīyadhamma (States of conciliation) for the operations in helping society, both mentally and materialistically in various forms.
