A research paper Analytical Synthesis of Knowledge and Counseling Process in Buddhist Psychology

Abstract

This research is of the two objectives, viz. (1) to study and analyze the Western concepts of psychological counseling and Buddhism, and (2) to synthesize as a model on the process of Buddhist Psychology counseling. The research is a documentary one. It was found that Mental Health is the state of mind of a man having in usual circumstances. Those suffered economic and social pressures or mind conflicted might be caused to depressive disorder, etc.  Come to concern is psychiatric physicians, cured by five steps of friendship making, problem surveying, understanding problem, cause and requirement, problem solving, and cease to counseling.  Compared to Buddhist psychology, the Four Noble Truths mode of thinking is used as in the case the Buddha used to by identification and acceptance of the exact happening; beginning with soothing the patients, making them to realize the nature of problem, calling their mindfulness, and finally advices them with the right way of practice with suitable medicine of Dhamma.
