People’s Participation Affecting Effectiveness of Temple Administration of Sangha Administrative Jurisdictions 1

Abstract

            The purposes of this research were: 1) the level of people’s participation in Temple Administration of Sangha Administrative Jurisdictions 1, 2) the level of effectiveness of Temple Administration of Sangha Administrative Jurisdiction 1, and 3) the People’s Participation affecting Effectiveness of Temple Administration of Sangha Administrative Jurisdictions 1. The samples use of for the quantitative research were 135 abbots and 135 Sub-district Headman and Village Headman, totaling 20 Sangha. The instrumentation of the study included questionnaires and in-depth interviews. Data were analyzed by means of standard deviation, and Multiple regression analysis.

            The results were as follow: 1) Overall people’s participation was at moderate level. Individually, it can be ranked from high to low as follows: planning; organizing; controlling; coordinating; and commanding. 2) Overall effectiveness of the Temple Administration of Sangha Administrative Jurisdictions 1 was at high level. Individually, it can be ranked from high to low as follows: Governance; Facilities; Propagation; Religious education; Welfare education; and Public welfare. 3) People’s Participation factors could predict effectiveness of the Temple Administration by 80.10%. 4) The hypothesis testing found that the participation of people in planning organization in command the coordination and control aspects have influence on the effectiveness of the temple management.
