The Buddhist Perspective on Death: A Case Study in Gynecological Cancer Patients in Urban

Abstract
The objective of this research on the Buddhist perspective on death : a case study in gynecological cancer patients in urban were 1) to study Buddhist perspectives and practices of terminal patients regarding death and their practices towards death, 2) to analyze attitudes of terminal patients regarding death, and 3) to develop concepts and practices for terminal patients in accordance with Buddhist principles. The research methodology is a documentary study and field research. The results of the study consist of 4 main points. The first main point is the feeling when they realize that they have a cancer, which includes a) various fears, b) do not want to be a burden on anyone, and c) feeling suffering both physically and mentally. The second main point is when they have to accept it, which includes: a) accepting the reality of life, b) must live with it, c) believe in the law of karma, and d) must let themselves on. The third main point is a practice that can help, which consists of a) self-reliance, b) using principles as a guideline, and c) clear up their unresolved issues. Finally, the fourth main point is relief, which consists of a) having goals, b) accumulating merit, c) encouragement from those around them, and d) emotional attachment.
