The strategy of Buddhist leadership of Buddhist Universities Administrators in Thailand

Abstract

         This research aimed to study the factors of Buddhist leadership, to study the current situation and the desirable conditions of Buddhist leadership and to create the strategies for Buddhist leadership development of Buddhist Universities in Thailand. The data were collected from 248 administrators and lecturers of Buddhist university by using stratified random sampling method. The tools used in the research were interview form, questionnaires, and evaluation form. The statistics used for data analysis comprised frequency, percentage, mean, standard deviation and confirmatory factors analysis.


           The research results were found that:


  1. There were 4 main factors of Thai Buddhist leadership universities i.e. 1) Suppurisadhamma 2) Barmavihardhamma 3) Sangahavatthu 4) Iddhipada.

  2. The current situation of Buddhist leadership of Buddhist Universities Administrators in Thailand, in overall, was rated at a high level, as the desirable conditions of Buddhist leadership of Buddhist university administrators in Thailand, in overall, were rated at the highest level.

  3. 3. The strategies for Buddhist leadership development of Buddhist Universities Administrators consisted of ๔ main strategies as follows: 1) Reforming the administrational potential to achieve the goals, 2) Reforming the personnel management in the organization in accordance with principles of Buddhadhamma, 3) Reforming the skills of human relations of executives and 4) Enhancing morality and ethics for executives.
