The dissertation entitled “A Guideline to the Ethical Development for the Satellite Television Entrepreneurs in Thailand based on the Buddhist Integration” consisted of thee objectives: 1) to study concepts, theories, and problems of Satellite Television entrepreneurs in Thailand, 2) to study the Buddhist teachings on Ethics of satellite television entrepreneurs in Thailand, and 3) to propose a guideline to the ethical development for the satellite television entrepreneurs in Thailand based on the Buddhist Integration. This was a qualitative research with the data collected from an interview, field observation, and related documents on Buddhism.
From the study, it was found that ethics of satellite television entrepreneurs in Thailand was essential and necessary for developing because ethics was considered as an important factor in determining the behavior of entrepreneurs, which had a significant impact on public service. The Buddhist teachings that can be used to develop the ethics of satellite television entrepreneurs in Thailand were the Four Sublime States of Mind (Brahmavihāra), the Right View (Sammādiṭṭhi), the Right Speech (Sammāvācā), and the Well-spoken Speech (Subhāsitavācā). These teachings were a guideline to the ethical development in the mass media of satellite television entrepreneurs in Thailand. For the organization to be moral and efficient, the ethical principles should be followed in the right way.
