A Competency Model of Insight Meditation Masters Based on Buddhist Psychology

Abstract
The study entitled “A Competency Model of Insight Meditation Master Based on Buddhist Psychology” consists of three objectives as follows, (1) to analysis the competency of Insight meditation masters based on Buddhist psychology; (2) to analysis the competency of teacher on psychology ; and (3) to synthesize and present the competency models of Insight meditation masters based on Buddhist psychology. This qualitative study had collected information by using Document Research and In-depth interview with 6’Cs Technique from 17 key informants, in addition with 12 specialists by using group discussion. Afterward, all collecting information were synthesized and analyzed by Logical Matrix Technique to deliver the competency models of Insight meditation masters based on Buddhist psychology, subsequently, appropriately assessed by 5 specialists. The competency model of Insight meditation master based on Buddhist psychology consists of 9 components, namely : 1) the Insight Meditation Master should know steps and method of practice meditation that teach with kindness, in addition develop ; teaching for leading students to achievement 2) one should be able to take care and help insight meditation practitioners 3) one always should seek for knowledge by reading, practice meditation and teaching 4) one should share the work and mitting everyday 5) one must be able to design learning and evaluation 6) one must be able to examine survey to the meditation practitioners’ development, 7) one should be able to manage the meditation rooms’ development to make it Peaceful to Meditation practitioners, convenient and clean 8) should to be able to teach expertly the method and step of Insight Meditation skillfully to clearly and 9) one should be able to give to counseling and encourage to practitioners.
