Abstract

 In this article entitled  " The Application of Buddhadhamma Principle for Developing Life Quality of Elderly People after Their Retirement, " an attempt was purposely made to study the Buddhist teachings being applied to develop the quality of life of elderly people after retirement and then thereby propose the guidelines to apply those teachings in elderly people’s ways of daily life. This research employed the qualitative research methodology done through documentaries and in-depth interview of retired elderly people. The research findings were found that the Buddhist teachings applied to develop elderly people in the question are of four types of development, physical, moral mental and intellectual development. By virtue of these teachings, elderly people could become healthy in terms of body and mind and thereby living their life happily and benefiting a society by means of their wisdom. In the application of those virtues, they need to live their life according to four kinds of development as mentioned above; in bodily development, it necessary for them to moderately consume for requisites including exercising regularly where real benefit could be created to their health, in social development, they should not harm any living being, in mental development, they should follow sets of virtue to strengthen their mind there loving kindness could be expressed to other people giving rise to happiness, in development  of wisdom, they should always listen to the Buddhist teachings and having conversation of them where the awareness of what is going on could be made through real wisdom leading to the solution of whatever problem is.
