From Practical Guidelines of Community Enterprises Based on Social Capital to Responsible Tourism in Mae Sa-Kog Ma Biosphere Reserve, Chiang Mai Province

Abstract

Mae Sa-Kog Ma biosphere reserve is an area that is rich in biodiversity with cultural societies. Moreover, it is one of the most important tourist attractions in Chiang Mai province. The study is qualitative research. The objective of this article aims to 1) study and analyze the social capital of community enterprise and 2) provide practical guidelines for the community enterprise towards responsible tourism. The results of this study showed that the community enterprises in Mae Sa-Kog Ma biosphere reserve consisted of agricultural community enterprise, tourism community enterprise, and cultural community enterprise. They learn together, carry out activities based on local knowledge and provide friendly services. Moreover, they also created the conservation networking, and provided the joint development area by using natural resources to improve local products and services for creating the good practice of the responsible tourism for 6 dimensions. This article attempts to build the good practice for community enterprises based on the social capital to promote the responsible tourism in Mae Sa-Kog Ma biosphere reserve.
