Factors Affecting Oral Health Care among Upper Primary School Students in Tha Sala School, Tha Sala District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province. Thailand

Abstract: The aimed of cross-sectional study research was to study factors contributing to the oral health care behavior of primary pupils in Tha Sala school. 120 participants were obtained by stratified random sampling. Data were collected by applying the Proceed-Precede Model about the knowledge, attitude Perception of oral health services and social support in oral health care and percentage, mean and SD Pearson's product moment correlation coefficient regression coefficients were employed. The results showed that most of the subjects were female (60.8%), had high level of knowledge (90.8%) and attitude (95.0%), social support (70.0%) and behavior at moderate level (58.3%). The correlation between social support and behavior is quite high (R 0.543, P <0.001) and is the best predictor (beta 0.534, P <0.01) is predicted 30.9 percent (R2 0.309, P <0.001). In conclusion, social support was the highest factor that affects oral health care behaviors.
