The Development of the Community Learning Center Model : A Case Study of the Thachang Ensis Weaving and Product Processing Community Enterprise Group in Thachang Sub-District, Chaloem Phra Kiat District Nakhon Ratchasima Province

Abstract

This study aims to (1) analyze the management potential of the Thachang Ensis Weaving and Product Processing Community Enterprise Group in Thachang Subdistrict, Chaloem Phrakiat District, Nakhon Ratchasima Province, and (2) develop a management model for a community learning center for the enterprise. Employing a qualitative research approach with participatory action research methods, the study involved 20 key informants, including the enterprise president, members, committee, community leaders, local scholars, and relevant government officials. Data were collected through field surveys, document analysis, in-depth interviews, focus group discussions, and content analysis. The findings are as follows: 1) The Thachang Ensis Weaving and Product Processing Community Enterprise Group demonstrates robust management capabilities. Its textile and processed products are primarily developed using local raw materials, resources, capital, and labor. The enterprise fosters innovation and systematically organizes its knowledge while reflecting the community’s identity, indigenous wisdom, and cultural heritage. Its operations align with the philosophy of sufficiency economy, supporting holistic social communication and community-wide participation. 2) The development of the community learning center management model is guided by the POLCT MODEL, which comprises five components: P(Planning), O(Organizing),L (Leading), C (Controlling), and T(The King’s Philosophy). This model provides a framework for enhancing community resource efficiency, fostering innovation, preserving and transmitting local wisdom, generating income, and promoting sustainable development.
