The Guideline For Solid Waste Management of People In Thamuang Subdistrict, Selaphum Distric, Roi et Province

Abstract

The objective of this research was to study methods and guidelines for waste management of people in Tha Muang Subdistrict, Selaphum District, Roi Et Province. Samples used in this study included 400 people living in Tumbon Thamuang, Selaphum District, Roi Et Province using the formula of Yamane (Yamane, 1973). The tools used in this research consisted of questionnaires. The statistics for data analysis were basic statistics. The results showed that the people in Thamuang Subdistrict, Selaphum District, Roi Et Province had overall waste disposal behavior at a high level with cooperation in solving waste problems and their joint effort in reducing the amount of waste. As for the waste disposal approach, it should focus on reducing the amount of waste at the place of origin by promoting and encouraging the recycling of waste as much as possible and implementing activities of reducing, separating, and using waste. The approach emphasized the participation of all sectors including the public, local, private, and central government sectors by creating further economic incentives.
